Prospects for Biodiesel Production from Emerging Algal Resource: Process Optimization and Characterization of Biodiesel Properties

The present work focuses on the optimization of energy conversion process and use algal resources for biodiesel production with ultrasound microwave techniques in Oedogonium, Oscillatoria, Ulothrix, Chlorella, Cladophora, Spirogyra first time. fuel properties are investigated to optimize efficiency newly emerging feedstock. study indicates that optimized technique improves lipid extraction (38.5, 34, 55, 48, 40, 33%, respectively). Moreover, ultrasonic was also effective extracting more lipids from Oedogonium sp., Oscillatoria Ulothrix Cladophora sp. (32, 21, 51, 36%, respectively) than controls, using an ultra-sonication power 80 kHz 8-min fatty acid composition, especially contents C16:0 C18:1, were enhanced after sonication pretreatments species. Enhancement extracted species improved cetane number, high heating value, cold filter plugging point, oxidative stability as compared controls. Our results indicate biofuels algae could be increased by techniques, develop eco-green sustainable environment.
